Founder & CEO, Pathway to Podium

Kelly Patrick 

Kelly Patrick founded Pathway to Podium on the belief that opportunity should not depend on access, geography, or privilege. A nationally recognized sailing leader and community advocate, she has championed Olympic sailing in LA to support athletes, strengthen her waterfront community, and grow the sport. Through SailGP engagement, the USA WASZP Executive Team, Kelly creates new entry points into foiling, sailing, and maritime careers.

Manatt, Phelps & Phillips

Richard J. Marie, Jr.

Richard J. Maire, Jr. is an experienced sailor and active cruiser with a lifelong connection to the sport, from dinghies to international voyages. A member and past leader at the Los Angeles Yacht Club, he has served on its Board of Directors and supported regattas, including the Harbor Cup. Professionally, he is a partner at Manatt, Phelps & Phillips, specializing in corporate finance, and brings nonprofit board leadership experience.

    Cabrillo Beach Youth Sailing Foundation

    Bill Schopp

    Bill Schopp is a veteran sailor and racer with over 50 years of experience, including multiple Pacific crossings and Transpac races. A Cal 20 Class Champion and accomplished match racer, he has competed across a wide range of classes. He is a Staff Commodore of Cabrillo Beach Yacht Club and co-founder of the Cabrillo Beach Youth Sailing Foundation, where he supports the next generation of sailors.

      Kenneth Corry

      Kenneth Corry is a lifelong sailor who began at the Royal Cork Yacht Club and represented Ireland in international competitions, including the Admirals Cup and J/24 World Championships. Now based in Southern California, he brings experience as both a skipper and race committee leader. A member of the Los Angeles Yacht Club since 2014, he has served on the Board of Directors and held leadership roles, including Staff Commodore.

        Shelter Structures America

        Robert Kraak

        Robert Kraak is an active offshore racer and longtime member of Cabrillo Beach Yacht Club, where he serves on multiple committees and the Board of Directors. He regularly competes in major West Coast regattas, including Newport to Ensenada and The Islands Race. Professionally, he is the founder and president of Shelter Structures America, a company specializing in large-scale event infrastructure across North America.

        GameChange

        Jack Baric

        Jack Baric is an Emmy Award–winning filmmaker and co-founder of GameChange, an inspirational sports media company. He co-authored Thru the Tunnel, a collection of stories exploring life lessons through sports. His documentary work includes Blood Thursday (Emmy winner), A City Divided, and Searching for a Storm. He is currently producing More Than a Dream, about the 1992 Croatian Olympic basketball team.

          John Patrick

          John Patrick is a senior executive known for driving large-scale growth and building high-performing sales organizations. He has led national, multi-channel teams overseeing more than $5.7B in revenue, delivering strong gains in conversion, pipeline, and overall performance. His expertise spans go-to-market strategy, data-driven operations, and customer-centric sales,  building scalable systems and developing

          talent.

          Treasurer

          Peyton McElyea

          Peyton serves as Treasurer for Pathway to Podium and is an active member of the Los Angeles Yacht Club, where he currently holds the role of Fleet Captain and is slated to serve as Commodore in 2029. Outside of sailing, he is a real estate developer focused on large-scale residential communities across Southern California and the Central Coast. He lives in Palos Verdes with his two children and is a frequent visitor to Catalina Island.
